Dr. Choudhury is a specialist in urologic oncology, the discipline in urology that treats tumors of the adrenal gland, prostate, kidney, testis, and bladder. Dr. Choudury has 25 years experience and is a leader in nerve-sparing prostatectomy and neo-bladder construction.
Dr. Choudhury began his career as a fellow in urologic oncology at Roswell Park Institute, and came to Westchester Medical Center in 1981. He has won innumerable awards for teaching at New York Medical College and has been recognized by his peers as a leader in cancer surgery and treatments. Those who trained under his tutelage over a 20 year span have gone on to become preeminent urologists in their own right, practicing from California to Massachusetts.
Dr. Choudhury is Chairman of and Professor in the Department of Urology at New York Medical College. He is past-president of the Medical Staff of Westchester Medical Center. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Urology, and past President of the New York Section of the American Urology Association. He has been an authority on bladder cancer and neobladder construction, on prostate cancer and nerve-sparing techniques, and on the use of interferon and immune system stimulants on the treatment and prevention of bladder cancer.
