About Us

Thank you for spending the time to learn more about our group. The Urology Center of Westchester (UCW) is composed of 6 full time urologists who represent 3 decades of advanced, comprehensive care to patients of the Hudson Valley and Metropolitan New York Area. As the only full-time academic-affiliated urology group between NYC and Albany, we have experience with general to the most complex urologic cases and consultations requiring expert advice. Our mission is to provide our patients with the highest level of specialized care in a patient-friendly environment.   • UCW was the first permanent site to have extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) in the Hudson Valley (1989)
  • UCW physicians were the first to use the Da Vinci robot for urologic procedures in Westchester (2000)
  • UCW has the only robotic surgeon in the New York area fellowship-trained at the National Cancer Institute

UCW is the clinical arm of the Department of Urology at the New York Medical College. We provide the important service of educating and training physicians and other health care providers from around the world in all areas of urology.

The Staff

Office Policies

Same day or next day appointment requests are given, based upon availability. New patients are always welcome. Please call 914-347-1900 so that we may assist you.

First time consultation - the patient is asked to fill out a registration form, medical form and to bring all past medical records, lab tests, x-ray reports and a list of medicines. If the patient participates in an HMO or Managed Care they are required to bring a referral for the initial consultation, office visit, any procedure in the office or any surgical procedure in the hospital.

If patients don't have a proper referral for an appointment and/or surgery, the appointment and/or surgery will be delayed or cancelled. For all office procedures patients are given all of the instructions in advance.

Cancellations

If patients are unable to keep an appointment, they are expected to give at least 48 hours notice. This courtesy will make it possible to offer the appointment to another patient.
The following forms can be downloaded to your computer and printed at home. By filling out these forms ahead of time, you will save significant time at the time of your visit. If you have any questions when filling out the forms, please do the best you can, our staff will assist you with your questions on the day of your visit. Emergencies

In case of a true emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. If you need to speak with one of our urologists because of an urgent urologic problem you are having, the Urology Care of Westchester provides on-call service 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week. Call (914) 347-1900 and the on call physician will contact you immediately. Make sure that if you expect a call-back from a physician that all call blocking features on your phone are disabled.
The Urology Center of Westchester participates with most health insurance plans. Covered procedures vary with each insurance company -- office staff assists patients in determining eligibility. Patients are responsible for deductibles, co-payments and remaining balances. Patients also have the option of paying office and surgical fees in advance and then receiving their insurance reimbursement check directly from the insurance company. Please contact our office to find out if your insurance plan is accepted.
Insurance co-payment is collected at the time when service is provided. For any billing questions, one of our office staff with expertise in the matter will be glad to discuss it with you in confidence.

Our staff members are fluent in English, Spanish, French, German and Tagalog.
